Intermediate Level Software Engineer Summary:

  • Completes development projects according to design specifications.

  • Provides input regarding design process to team members and supervisor.

  • Assists with product testing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Consults with supervisor, systems analysts, other programmers and end users to gather information about program intent, functions, features, data requirements, input requirements, output requirements, internal and external checks and controls, hardware and operating system.

  • Environment and interfaces with other systems.

  • Designs or writes program specifications based on consultations with supervisor, systems analysts, other programmers and end users.

  • Converts designs and specifications into computer code.

  • Compiles code into programs and corrects errors detected in compile process.

  • Creates test transactions and runs tests to find errors and confirm program meets specifications. Analyzes code to find causes of errors and revises programs.

  • Writes and maintains documentation of changes to computer code, programs and specifications. Designs and codes layouts for on-screen user interfaces, printed outputs and interfaces with other systems.

  • Responds to customer concerns regarding software issues they may be facing.

  • Performs maintenance services to gMed’s databases, development and demonstration environments to ensure business continuity.

REQUIREMENTS:

Technical Skills/Qualifications:

  • College degree in related field of study or equivalent professional experience.

  • Knowledge of Windows XP; Microsoft Office Suite, VPN Clients and Remote access software, Windows 2000 and Windows 2003, group policies, Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, Disaster Recovery and Backup Software industry experience required.

  • Networking knowledge including router and firewall configuration and maintenance including VPN.

  • STRONG ability to develop software using C#, VB.net, ASP.net, XML, HTML and JavaScript is an absolute must!
