Weston, FL (August 2011) - gMed is pleased to announce the integration of gGastro with the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) Digestive Health Outcomes RegistryTM. Through the partnership between gMed and the AGA, the AGA Registry is incorporated into Version 4 of the gGastro product.
gGastro users can automatically submit data to the registry and begin monitoring and improving patient care while also generating data to compare efficacy of treatments and potentially increasing their Medicare reimbursement.
Samuel Rubinsztain, gMed VP of Product Development said, "We are very excited with the launch of the AGA Registry integration within the gGastro application. Together, with the AGA, we have been able to streamline the data collection process within gGastro so data can be transmitted automatically to the registry. Helping drive quality and patient outcomes has always been at the core of gMed's strategy and vision."
Gastroenterologists who participate in the AGA Registry can run benchmark reports, manage their patient population and participate in quality reporting and incentive programs. The AGA Registry is the only gastroenterology registry certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), enabling practices to submit data for the CMS Physician Quality Reporting System for the hepatitis C measures group, with the potential of earning a Medicare bonus in 2012.
"As the health care system evolves, physicians must measure the quality of care they provide and demonstrate their value to patients and payors. The AGA and gMed offer a seamless way to capture data without disrupting practice workflow," says John Allen, MD, chair of the AGA Registry Executive Management Board.
The American Gastroenterological Association is the trusted voice of the GI community. Founded in 1897, the AGA has grown to include 17,000 members from around the globe who are involved in all aspects of the science, practice and advancement of gastroenterology. The AGA Institute administers the practice, research and educational programs of the organization. www.gastro.org
